54 Hole Junior Open at Greystone

From Saturday, May 25th through Monday, May 27th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Junior Open at Greystone in the Greystone Golf Club, TN. The tournament was made up of a 54-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys 10 and Under, and Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Cameron Tankersley of Dickson, TN shot an impressive 70 all three rounds to remain at the top of the leaderboard the rest of the week, claiming victory with a 210 three-day total. Tankersley won by a margin of fourteen shots over his closest competitor. Carlyle Strickland of Franklin, TN finished in second place after shooting a three-round total of 224. And rounding up the top-three was Andrew Cherry of Dickson, TN with a three-day total of 225.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

54 Hole Junior Open at Greystone

Ryan Porterfield of Cumming, GA shot a three-day total of 245 to take an early lead on Saturday and remain in contention through Monday, winning with a fourteen-shot margin over his closest competitor. Closing out the week with an 81 on Monday, Stamper was able to take home the hardware. Runner-up Jacks Butts from Paducah, KY shot a three-day total 259 to take solo second-place honors. Rounding up the top-three for the division was Maxwell Kearns of Newtown, OH with a 269 for the week.

Ernie Els 11-13

54 Hole Junior Open at Greystone

Grant Broughton of Owensboro, KY led the Ernie Els Boys Division with a 248 three-round total to take an early lead with a first-round 85 and lead the rest of the week. Chapman closed out his three-day total with an outstanding 78 and take home the win. Following his lead, Carson Daniel of Bolivar, TN improved his scoring to finish with a 251 three-round total and take runner-up honors. Rounding of the top-three was Jaden Larsen of Thompsons Station, TN with a three-day total of 320 and claim the third-place.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

54 Hole Junior Open at Greystone

Margaret Butts of Paducah, KY shot a three-day total of 247 to take home first-place honors with a two-shot margin over her closest competitor. Arnold finished her week with an 82 on Monday to seal the victory. Following her was Preslee Yoder of Chattanooga, TN with a three-day total of 249. Rounding up the top-three, Savannah Cherry of Brentwood, TN finished with a 259 for the week and claimed solo third-place honors

Boys 10 Under

Connor Daniel of Bolivar, TN lead the way in the Boys 10 and Under division with a total of 317 for the week. Daniel was the solo competitor in the division and claimed first place honors for the tournament.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
