54 Hole Junior Open at Celebration

From May 30th to June 1st, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the 54 Hole Junior Open at Celebration . The tournament was made up of a 54-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Boys 16-18

Alex Long from Toronto, Canada was the first-place finisher this weekend. Long brought in scores of 75, 67 and 70 and for a combined total of 212 for the weekend. Long was able to seal his victory after a 5-hole playoff with second place finisher Aaron Jarvis. Jarvis from George Town, Cayman Island took home the second-place honors with scores of 73, 69 and 70 for a weekend total of 212. Sebastiano Mascia from Valencia, Venezuela finished the top three honors with scores of 74, 72 and 70 for a weekend total of 216.

Boys 14-15

Jack Snedaker from Lake Mary, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Snedaker brought in scores of 69, 76 and 74 for a combined total of 219 for the weekend. Lev Grinberg from Kiev, Ukraine was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74, 72 and 74 for a combined total of 220. To round out the top three honors was Shawn Coultoff from Winter Garden, FL. Coultoff has scores on 73, 74 and 76 a weekend total of 223.

Phillip Dunham from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Dunham brought in impressive scores of 73, 69 and an impressive 64 for a combined total of 206. Steven Liu from Lake Mary, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 76, 74 and 69 for a combined total of 219. Jackson Harris from Powell, OH finished the top three honors with scores of 76, 71 and 75 for a weekend total of 222.

Girls 14-18

Annie Zhang from Winter Garden, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zhang was able to seal her victory after a 3-way playoff hole with Juliana Camargo and Sophia Bae. Zhang brought in scores of 72, 71 and 76 for a combined total of 219.  Juliana Camargo was our second-place finisher for the weekend with scores of 73, 75 and 71 for a weekend total of 219. Sophia Bae was the third-place finisher for the weekend with scores of 72, 71 and 76 for a combined total of 219.

Greta Gobezie from Chagrin Falls, OH was the first-place finisher this weekend. Gobezie brought in scores of 72 72 and 77 for a combined total of 221 for the weekend. Staci Pla was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 82, 76 and 72 for a combined total of 230. Rounding out the top three honors was Angela Wang from Windermere, FL with scores of 77, 80 and 77 a combined total of 234.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
