2018 Tournament of Champions

We are pleased to announce that over 700+ players attended this years events across 8 different venues, which was ANOTHER ground breaking record for us. Each field featured the top individuals from every state including over 30+ countries from around the world.

This years Tournament of Champions contenders qualified for this event by winning an HJGT event. The points for this event are elevated and the winner from each division will receive 8x the points towards the player of the year honors.

On Saturday December 1st – Sunday December 2nd, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Tournament of Champions in Orlando, FL. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

2018 Tournament of Champions

Gavin Hagstrom of Fort Collins, CO captured the first-place finish at the Tournament of Champions in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a two-day total of +8. With solid play both days, Hagstrom was able to hold off second-place finishers Tommy Lamb, Zensen Hu, Micheal Hauer, Dylan Fitchet, Matthew Cooper by 2 shots.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

2018 Tournament of Champions

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Jean-Philippe Parr took home first place victory this weekend by shooting a two-day total of +1 and winning in a one-hole playoff against Alex Song who also shot +1. Rounding out the division was Mehrbaan Singh who finished 3 shots behind Parr and Song to claim a 3rd place finish with a total of +4.

Ernie Els 11-13

2018 Tournament of Champions

Brock Snyder did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he finished with -6 to win in his division over Nicholas Gross of Downingtown, PA who had a two-day total of -1 to claim 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Phillip Dunham, Mateo Desmond, Reggie Zhu, Shawn Coultoff, and Louie Liu who all finished at even par.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Susana Olivares ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of -8. With consistent rounds, Olivares was able to hold off Mackenzie Gallagher by 6 shots. Rounding out the division was Mariana Mesones who finished at even par to claim a 3rd place finish.

Justin Rose Girls U13

2018 Tournament of Champions

Gianna Clemente ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division by shooting a total of +4. With consistent rounds, Clemente was able to hold off Morgan Rodriguez by 3 shots. Rounding out the division was Vilda Westh-Blanc who shot a two-day total of +8 to claim a 3rd place finish.

Sam Terry did not disappoint in the Bryson Dechambeau Boys U10 Division as he shot even par for the weekend to win in his division over Miles Russell of Jacksonville Beach, FL who finished at +2 to claim 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Tristan Rhodenizer who finished with a two-day total of +5 to take a solo third place finish.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
