2018 National Championship

We are pleased to announce that over 700+ players attended this years events across 8 different venues, which was ANOTHER ground breaking record for us. Each field featured the top individuals from every state including over 30+ countries from around the world.

This years National Championship contenders qualified for this event by placing in the top 3 of an HJGT event. The points for this event are elevated and the winner from each division will receive 3x the points towards the player of the year honors.

On Saturday December 1st – Sunday December 2nd, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the National Championship in Orlando, FL. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

2018 National Championship

Will Spivey and Mark Correa tied for the first-place finish at National Championship in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a two-day total of +2. With solid play both days, they were able to hold off Davis Money by 1 shot. After the conclusion of the 36-hole event, Spivey and Correa took on the course for a playoff which concluded after the fourth hole where Spivey would make par to seal the victory.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

2018 National Championship

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division, Xirong Cheng of Shanghai, China took home first-place this weekend with a two-day total of -4. Solid play in the second round allowed Cheng to take victory over John Marshall who finished second with a two-day total of +1 for a solo second place finish. Rounding out the division was Shawn Lalmoni who shot +6 over the two-day tournament.

Ernie Els 11-13

2018 National Championship

Ryder Cowan did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he scored +10 to win in his division over Tymon Sun who scored +11 to claim 2nd place. Juleon Habib shot a 2-day total of +12 to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

2018 National Championship

Handa Liu ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by shooting a total of +5. With consistent rounds, Liu was able to hold off second-place finishers Shannyn Vogler and Mary Kate Smith by 2 shots.

Justin Rose Girls U13

2018 National Championship

Ryleigh Knaub ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division by finishing with a total of +16. With consistent rounds, Knaub was able to hold off second-place finisher, Julia Zigrossi by 4 shots. Rounding out the division was Claire Chang who shot a two-day total of +21 to claim the 3rd place finish.

Boys 10 Under

2018 National Championship

Grant McCall did not disappoint in the Bryson Dechambeau Boys U10 Division as he shot a two-day total of +18 to win in his division over Jack Keller of Napa, CA who carded a total of +22 to claim 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Santiago Navarro who scored a two day total of +34.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
