Anderson, SC (April 22, 2012) – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Cobb’s Glen Country Club this past weekend for another exciting event. With a field size of over 85 junior golfers players ranged from all over the East coast. Representatives from South Carolina, Georgia, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and Mexico were all present. Luckily the forecasted rain was avoided and it was another beautiful weekend for golf. Cobb’s Glen hosted a great facility and was willing to help us out whenever needed so we would like to send a special thank you to them. In the boys 15-18 division Carson Young from Pendleton, SC took home the first place trophy with a two day total of 140 (69+71). Young was one of only six players to record an eagle and also had the best par 5 average (4.25) and was tied for the most birdies (8). Jon Hardee from Greer, SC finished three shots off the pace with a two day total of 143 (74+69). Hardee, along with Matt Collins from Duluth, GA, had the best par 3 average (2.88) while also posting the second best par or better percentage (83.3%). Stephen Reynolds playing out of Greenville, SC rounded out the top three finishing with a two day total of144 (74+70). Reynolds had the third best par 4 average (4.05) while also posting the second best round two score to vault him into the top three. The girls 15-18 division played very competitively with the top four finishing within four shots of one another. Isabella Skinner from Cumming, GA finished with a two day total of 150 (77+73) to take home first place. Skinner also finished with the most birdies (6), the best par 3 average (3.12), and was the only player to finish under par for the par 5 average (4.88). Taylor Dodson from Aiken, SC came in second place with a two day total of151 (77+74). Dodson was tied with Skinner for the best par 3 average (3.12), and also tied with IsidoraQuevedo from Chile with the second best 4 average (4.20),and had the most pars (29). Rounding out the top three wasMaddy Cox from Easley, GA who had a two day total of 152 (77+75). Cox had the best par 4 average (4.15) and the second most pars (23).   In the boys 11-14 division Caleb Proveaux had a tournament low score of 66 during round one and finished with a two day total of 140 (66+74).  Proveaux scored the only eagle in this division and led in almost every statistical category. Proveaux had the most birdies (9), led in par 3 average (2.88) as well as par 5 average (4.00). Second place finisher, Hunter Dunagan from Martinez, GA, posted a two day total of 146 (73+73). Dunagan was tied with Proveaux for the best par 4 average (4.25) and had the most pars (23). Coming in third was Trent Phillips out of Easley, SC who posted a two day total of 148 (74+74). Phillips had the thirdbest par or better percentage (75.0%), the third most birdies (5), and the third best par 4 average (4.30). In the girls 11-14 division Courtney Vogel from Greer, SC finished in first place with a two day total of  161 (84+77). Not only did Vogel post the best round (77) she also had the most birdies (6), the best par 3 average (3.25), and the best par 5 average (4.88). Coming in second place was Nicole Latka out of Roswell, GA. Latka posted a two day score of173 (86+87) and had the most pars (13) along with second best par 5 average (5.25).Kelsey Kurnett playing out of Alpharetta, GA was the third place finisher with a two day total of 178 (87+91).
