The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) is excited to invite you to our final North Carolina event for 2014! North Carolina has been a wonderful host state for us this year and we would like to return the favor with an equally incredible event. The Winston-Salem Jr. Shootout will be held at Tanglewood Golf Club on Saturday November 8th- through Sunday November 9th. This is a great opportunity to compete with some of the best junior golfers in the nation at a great venue. High stakes deliver as this your final chance to win Hurricane Cup Points at a North Carolina event. Don’t miss out on the chance Represent your state in our 2014 Hurricane Cup, a Ryder Cup style invitational held at Sea Island Golf Club, exclusive home of the PGA’s McGladrey Classic. The Winston-Salem Jr. Shootout is open to all golfers between the ages of 11-18. At stake in this event are opportunities to earn South Carolina Junior Golf Association Heritage Points (SCJGA), Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA), Junior Golf Scoreboard Rankings (JGS), and AJGA Performance Stars if the respective field sizes are met within each age division. First place finishers in each division receive an automatic bid to the 2014 Tour Championship, held on December 6th-7th. Top 15 finishers receive points towards year end honors, including state teams, ALL HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup. This event is a two-day, 36 hole event. The first round will kick off Saturday, November 8th with a single tee start running from 8:00AM to 11:00AM. The second round will begin Sunday, November 9th with a single tee start running from 8:00AM to 11:00AM. Registration fees for HJGT members are $185 and $215 for non-members. The historic Championship Course was designed by legendary architect, Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Since opening in 1958, it has consistently ranked as one of the top public courses in the nation and has a deep, rich tradition of hosting some of golf's most prestigious tournaments; the most notable being the 1974 PGA Championship -one of golf's four majors. In a thrilling finish, Lee Trevino edged Jack Nicklaus by a single shot to take home the Wanamaker Trophy. Seasoned veteran, Sam Sneed, at the age of 62 finished tied for third.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 11-14 and Girls 15-18. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, and Pennsylvania.
