The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour based out of Jacksonville, FL makes its second trip to Lexington, KY and the University Club on July 24-25. The HJGT was previously at the University Club in April on the Wildcat Course, but will be on the Big Blue course in a few weeks for the Wildcat Junior Open. Winners in both boys divisions and the girls 15-18 division will receive AJGA Performance Stars if their field size requirements are met. Winners in each division receive an invitation to the 2013 Tour Championship and a $50 Kikkor Golf gift card. Top ten finishers will receive points toward end of the year honors such as All-HJGT teams and state teams. Last, but not least, those finisher’s points will also go toward the inaugural Hurricane Cup. The event will be a 36 hole stroke play tournament with the first round beginning with tee times from 7:30AM-9:00AM on Wednesday and the second round tee time on Thursday from 7:30AM-9:00AM as well. The registration fee is $179 for members and $199 for non-members. For membership information please refer to our website (www.hjgt.org/basic-membership/) The Big Blue course at the University Club was recently redesigned by Arthur Hills Golf. The course features bent grass from tee to green as well as numerous sand traps and water hazards over the rolling terrain. Golfers will need to be accurate off the tee to conquer the narrow fairways of the Big Blue course.
