The 2013 season has introduced 5 new states for the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour with Tennessee being one of them. The Tennessee Spring Challenge will take place in Sevierville at the Sevierville Golf Club. Nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains the Sevierville golf club is highlighted as one of the town’s main attractions. The event will offer rankings from Junior Golf Scoreboard and scouts from National Scouting Report will be present. The champion of the boy’s and girl’s 15-18 age division will be eligible to earn 4 performance stars, equivalent to one exemption in an American Junior Golf Association event. The champion of the boy’s 11-14 age division will be eligible to earn 1 performance star. Stars will be handed out if the minimum requirements for field size are met (boys 15-18 = 40, girls 15-18 = 12, boys 11-14 = 20). Top 10 finishers will receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, all HJGT teams, and the inaugural Hurricane Cup. The tournament format will be single tee 36-hole stroke play. Registration will take place between 8:00AM-11:00AM on Saturday. The first and second round tee times will run course between 9:00AM-12:00PM with an awards ceremony following play on Sunday. The top 3 in each division will receive trophies with supplemental gifts handed out for honors such as most improved and most birdies. The river course is a par 72 that runs right across the Little Pigeon River. The course is ideal for spectators and players alike with views of the Little Pigeon River and Smoky Mountains.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 15-18 and Girls 11-14.
