The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) invites you to play in the Tampa Bay Junior Challenge! This event will be held at East Lake Woodlands Country Club – South Course in Oldsmar, FL on Feb. 20-21. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to play one of Florida's premier courses! The Tampa Bay Junior Challenge is open to all golfers between the ages of 8-18. The event will have Junior Golf Scoreboard Ranking (JGS), possible American Junior Golf Performance Stars (AJGA), winners in each division will receive in an invitation to the 2016 Tour Championship December 3-4, 2016, top three in each division will receive an invitation to the 2016 Mid Season Invitational at Chateau Elan June 11-16, 2016, and top-10 finishers receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, ALL HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup.
AJGA Performance Stars:
Boys 14-18 Champion= 4 Performance Stars, Boys 14-18 Top 5= 1 Performance Star, Girls 14-18 Champion= 4 Performance Stars, Girls 14-18 Top 3= 1 Performance Stars
This event has guaranteed AJGA stars for the divisions noted above. If a division is not listed above as guaranteed AJGA stars and the event meets the minimum requirements for any age division we will submit it to the AJGA for their consideration. The minimums are as follows: Boys 14-15/Boys 16-18= 40 players, Boys 11-13= 20 players, Girls 14-18=12 players, and Girls under 13= 6 players.
Junior Golf Scoreboard:
- Any division in which five or more competitors complete at least a 36-hole event.
This event is a two-day, 36-hole event. The first round will begin with a double tee start from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m and the second round will begin with a double tee start from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Registration for members is $195 and $245 for non-members. The South course at East Lake Woodlands is a par-72 late featuring TifEagle Bermuda fairways and greens. Yardages for the event are as follows: Boys 10U – 5,024 yards; Girls 13U – 5,335; Boys 11-13 & Girls 14-18 – 5,798 yards; Boys 14-15 & Boys 16-18 – 6,750 yards

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 8 years. There are several factors that set us apart from the competition which we call #TheHurricaneDifference. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2016 the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13.
