Premier Series at Saddlebrook

  This weekend the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour took the road to Wesley Chapel, to host the Premier Series at Saddlebrook on the Palmer Course at the Saddlebrook Resort. Sunshine and clear skies with temperatures in the lower to mid-80’s accompanied the tournament this weekend. The HJGT would like to thank the Saddlebrook Resort, and Palmer Course the for letting us host at such an exquisite course and resort. There was quite a bit at stake during this tournament for the top 3 finishers of each division. One was that the top 3 of each division would get exemption into 2017 National Championships which take place December 2-3, 2017. The next was that the top 3 would also get exemption into the Mid-Season Invitational at Sea Island Plantation June 11-13, 2017. The top ten finishers also were rewarded points towards end of the year honors, which include state teams, ALL HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup. Boys 16-18 Division

Samson Lu of New Taipei City was the Boys 16-18 Division Champion. Samson was awarded first after posting an impressive overall score of 146. He accomplished that by posting a 79 through the first round then coming back strong and posting an impressive score of 67 the second day. PJ Gehris of Wesley Chapel, FL finished in second place after posting a 76 on the first day and a 71 on the second day with an overall total of 147. Jianyou Piao of Bradenton, FL finished third place after posting a 78 on the first day and a 71 on the second day. Jianyou finished with an overall total of 149. Boys 14-15 Division

George Duangmanee of Fairfax, VA was the Boys 14-15 Division Champion. George finished first after posting a 76 on the first day and then coming back and posting a 70 on the second day. His overall total for this weekend was 146. Drew Cohen of Bradenton, FL finished second place this weekend after posting an overall total of 154. Tiago Barni of Windermere, FL and Jed Dura of Tampa, FL both finished third this weekend after posting a 157 through both rounds. Tiago had posted an 81 on the first day then a 76 the second day. Jed had posted a 76 on the first day then posting an 81 the second day.   Boys 11-13 Division

Tiger Christensen of Hamburg, DE was the Boys 11-13  Division Champion. Tiger had posted a 74 for the first round then posted a 73 for the second. He ended the weekend with an overall total of 147 for both rounds. Beni Long of Toronto, ON finished right behind in second place after posting a 73 for the first round then turning around and posting a 75 for the second. He finished the weekend with an overall total of 148. Yuzhe Zang of Winter Garden, FL finished closely behind in third after posting a 78 for the first round then a 71 for the second round. Yuzhe ended the weekend with an overall total of 149.   Boys 10U Division

Alex Rowland of Windermere, FL was the Boys 10U Division Champion. Alex posted a 105 for the first round and turned around and posted a 97 for the second round. Alex ended the weekend with an overall total of 202.           Girls 14-18 Division

Nicole Lu of Taipei was the Girls 14-18 Division Champion. Nicole posted a 73 for the first round and then posted a 70 for the second round. Nicole ended the weekend with an overall total of 143. Claire Vermette of St. Petersburg, FL and Taylor Dedmen of Plant City, FL tied for second place after both posting an overall total of 156. Claire posted a 77 for the first round and a 79 for the second for the 156. Taylor posted a 79 for the first round then a 77 for the second round for the 156.       Girls 13U Division

Kokoro Ouchi of Bradenton, FL was the Girls 13U Division Champion. Kokoro posted an 81 for the first round then turned around and posted a 74 for the second. Kokoro ended the weekend with an overall total 155. Elizabeth Anderson of Lockport, FL finished second after posting an overall total of 170. Giulia Lombardo of Bradenton, FL finished third after posting an overall total of 180.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Nexus is an international hospitality and entertainment company with the backing of financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group.
