Pennsylvania Junior Golf
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will be hosting an event in Pennsylvania for the very first time on the weekend of April 5-6. The Pittsburgh Junior Challenge is being played at the stunning venue of Birdsfoot Golf Club in Freeport, PA. The course uses the natural landscape of Pennsylvania to accommodate lush fairways and perfectly maintained greens. All competitors at this event will receive an official Hurricane Tour T-Shirt. The Pittsburgh Junior Challenge is open to all junior golfers between the ages of 11-18. This tournament has a lot up for grabs. The champion in each division will win AJGA Performance Stars if their respective field size requirements are met. Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings will be awarded to all divisions. The winners in each division will receive an automatic bid into the HJGT 2014 Tour Championship and Mid-Season Invitational. Additionally, the top ten finishers will receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, ALL HJGT teams and the Hurricane Cup. The tournament will be a two day, 36-hole, stroke play event. The first round will begin on Saturday with a single tee start running from 9AM-12PM. The second round, on Sunday, will also be a single tee start with times ranging from 9AM-12PM. The registration fee is $185 for members and $215 for non-members. For 2014 membership information please refer to our website. The whimsical name 'Birdsfoot' gives golfers a hint of what they're about to enjoy at this great Freeport course, a Pittsburgh favorite. Where many lesser golf courses pulse with pretense, Birdsfoot is a charming gem that scores with great golf that will test all skill levels. The course features 18 distinct holes , including four of the area's toughest par 3’s. The course attracts golfers from all over the tri-state area and challenges every distinct club. Links-style holes on the front nine mingle with parkland beauties played out over rolling hills that are indifferent to bounces good and bad.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 11-14 and Girls 15-18.
