The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Comes to Phoenix
The Phoenix Junior Open is set for March 19-20
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) invites you to play in the Phoenix Junior Open! This event will be held at the Adobe course at Arizona Biltmore Country Club in Phoenix, Ariz., on March 19-20. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to play in just our second event ever in Arizona! The Phoenix Junior Open is open to all golfers between the ages of 8-18. The event will have Junior Golf Scoreboard Ranking (JGS), winners in each division will receive an invitation to the 2016 Tour Championship on Dec. 3-4, top three in each division will receive an invitation to the 2016 Mid Season Invitational at Chateau Elan on June 11-13, and top-10 finishers receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, all HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup. As a part of our expansion to the West Coast, Arizona residents can receive free 2016 membership by using the code AZ16! Also, players in the states of TX, AZ, CA, NV, CO, WA, and OR who place on their respective HJGT Hurricane Cup team will earn a no-cost, Hurricane Cup exemption as well as a complimentary 2-night hotel stay courtesy of the HJGT! American Junior Golf Association:
- This event does not have guaranteed AJGA stars. If this event meets the minimum requirements for any age division we will submit it to the AJGA for consideration. The minimums are as follows: Boys 14-15/Boys 16-18 = 40 players, Boys 11-13 = 20 players, Girls 14-18 = 12 players, and Girls under 13 = 6 players.
Junior Golf Scoreboard:
- Ranking available for any division in which five or more competitors complete at least a 36-hole event.
This event is a two-day, 36-hole event. Both rounds will begin with a single tee start from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Registration for members is $249 and $299 for non-members. The Arizona Biltmore Country Club owns one of the richest histories of courses in the Southwest. Dwight Eisenhower, George H. Bush, John F. Kennedy, and Bob Hope, among others, have all teed it up at Biltmore dating back to its 90-plus year history. The Adobe course, where the Phoenix Junior Open will take place, is a traditional parkland-style course with wide fairways skirted by water and sand bunkers to provide a tough, but fair challenge.
