  On, February 11th and 12th 2017, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour continued its spring season at the beautiful golf course The Landing at Reynolds Lake Oconee. The conditions were windy and challenging for competitors. On Saturday, the weather was cooler, whereas the weather on Sunday proved more favorable for competitors. Winners in all five age divisions will receive an invitation to the Tour Championship later on this year and the top ten finishers also received points towards the end of the year Hurricane Cup and HJGT teams.   Boys 16-18 Division

In the Boys 16-18 Division, Jack McDonald from Dunwoody, Georgia battled a challenging course and played strong, consistent golf. He captured the title with a two-day total of 153. His impressive rounds of 76 and 77 put him ahead of his competitors by a few shots. On Saturday Jack had 12 pars, and on Sunday he clinched the victory with all pars on the back nine. Tied for second place was Chad Carter from Aiken, South Carolina, and Michael Olmsted Jr. from Milton, Georgia, who both shot a two-day total of 157. After the first round Chad led the division with an impressive first round of 74. He had a difficult final round, posting a score of 83, but he still secured second place with four pars in his last five holes. Michael ran into some problems on the sixteenth hole in the second round but he managed to secure second place by shooting twenty-two pars throughout the weekend. Overall, the Boys 16-18 Division was competitive this weekend and the top finishers played great golf.   Boys 14-15 Division

In the Boys 14-15 Division, Buck Brumlow from Carterville, Georgia, finished in first place after a two-hole playoff against Jack Hudson. After being tied for second through the first round, Buck claimed the title with his consistent play throughout the weekend. He finished with a two-day total of 153. He dominated the front nine on Sunday, shooting three birdies. Clinching second place was Jack Hudson from Roswell, Georgia, who also shot a two-day total of 153. Jack opened the tournament with a solid 76, and he finished strong on Sunday, firing five pars and a birdie on his last six holes. In third place was Max DuPree from Eatonton, Georgia. Max had a strong tournament as well, featuring an exhilarating eagle on a difficult par four. He finished with a two-day total of 160. The Boys 14-15 Division had an exciting week, and every competitor in the field displayed two high-quality rounds of golf.       Boys 11-13 Division

The Boys 11-13 Division has some promising talent. Andrew Garger from Sharpsburg, Georgia, took home first place this weekend and entertained spectators with a stunning eagle at the twelfth hole on Saturday. He dominated the course and was able to post an outstanding two-day total of 147. Shooting a 73 on Saturday and a 74 on Sunday, Andrew finished the weekend with four birdies and twenty-three pars. Coming in second place was Billy Abdow from Duluth, Georgia. Billy also was able to have a good first round despite a difficult course. He shot an 81 on both days finishing with a score of 162 for the tournament. In third place from Johns Creek, Georgia, was Deven Patel. Deven posted an 83 in the first round and an 80 in the second round, finishing with a total score of 163. Overall, the Boys 11-13 Division brought their talent to the tournament and we were pleased to see great rounds of golf.     Boys U10 Division

Our Boys U10 champion was Rogelio Gerena, who claimed first place with a two-day total of 189. He shot a solid 91 in the first round and a 98 in the second round to take home the victory. Rogelio held his own playing with two boys from the 11-13 Division. Even though the course was challenging, he did a great job and earned his trophy.               Girls 14-18 Division

The Girls 14-18 Division was competitive this weekend. Coming in first with a two-day total of 172 was Allie Kantor from Marietta, Georgia. She posted a consistent 86 in both rounds to clinch the title. Allie had two birdies and thirteen pars throughout the weekend. Tied for second place was McKenzie Mages from Marietta, Georgia, and Caroline Martin from Jefferson, Georgia, who both shot a two-day total of 183. The Girls 14-18 Division once again proved to be one of the tightest groups this weekend.
