Jacksonville, FL (June 12, 2013): The Nike Cup Series continues to roll through Georgia as the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour returns to the Peach State for the fifth installment of the Nike Cup Series. Canongate on White Oak in Newnan, GA will host the Nike Cup Series Event #5 on July 20-21. The Nike Cup Series is a partnership between Canongate and the HJGT that features outstanding golfers competing in eight events throughout the year. At the end of the year, leaders in the Nike Cup Points standings will face off with the Southeastern Junior Tour in a Ryder Cup style event. In addition to Nike Cup points, AJGA Performance Stars are up for grabs if the field size requirements are met. Winners in all divisions will receive an invitation to the 2013 Tour Championship. On top of all that, South Carolina Junior Golf Association Heritage Points and Tarheel Youth Golf Association points are up for grabs. Lastly, top ten finishers will earn points toward end of the year honors, which include All-HJGT teams, state teams, and points towards the inaugural Hurricane Cup. Lastly, winners also will take home a $50 Kikkor Golf gift card. The Nike Cup Series Event #5 will also feature the Summer Series Member Guest. Members will play with a guest on Friday, July 19, in a combined stroke play event. Winners will receive great prizes and it promises to be a great way to prepare for Saturday’s opening round. The 36-hole stroke play tournament will begin Saturday with a 12:00 noon start off both tees, and will conclude Sunday with a double tee start at 8:00AM. Registration for members is $179 and $199 for non-members. There is also an all inclusive option for $324 that includes tournament fee as well as the entry fee for the Member Guest that includes lunch as well as a Member Guest dinner with awards. Canongate on White Oak is a 36 hole golf club that opened its doors in 1986, but completed its current 36 hole track in 1990. The two courses offer two distinct layouts. The Old Course offers a traditional layout, while the Seminole Course features a more modern layout that offers golfers a very enjoyable round. Rocky Roquemore was the principal architect for the challenging course at White Oak Golf Club.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 11-14 and Girls 15-18.
