A Weekend at the Lake
On July 2-3rd, 2016 the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour took on the Crystal Lakes Golf Club in Haverhill, Massachusetts. The weather was fantastic as the golfers took on the challenges that come with the course. Thank you to Crystal Lakes Golf Club for allowing HJGT to host this event at their wonderful course. Four age divisions were in play this weekend as Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings were on the line. The winner of each division will be invited to play in the national championship held in December 2016. The top ten finishers in each division will receive points towards the Hurricane Cup. The golfers came into the weekend looking to conquer the challenges of the course and they did just that.
Boys 16-18 Division
Chris Ayers was the champion of the boys 16-18 division. Ayers from Weathersfield, Connecticut, shot a 73 in the first round and a 77 in the second round to finish the tournament with a total score of 150. Will Grady out of Andover, Massachusetts, finished in second place after shooting an 81 on Saturday, followed by an 86 on Sunday to finish the tournament with a 167 overall. John Cammarano took third place after shooting an 86 in the first round and an 82 in the second to finish with a 168 overall. Chris Ayers led the division with a total of 5 birdies over two rounds. He also had an eagle in the first round to close out the day on the eighteenth hole. All of the golfers had a great time competing against some of the best golfers in the region.
Boys 14-15 Division
Trevor Reilly was the champion of the boys 14-15 division. Reilly, a Weston, Massachusetts, native shot an 89 in the first round and an 87 in the second round to finish the tournament with an overall score of 176. Michael Swift from Lexington, Massachusetts finished in second place after shooting an 89 on Saturday and a 94 on Sunday for a 183 overall. Swift had a total of 15 pars to lead the division in this category. Reilly had the only birdie of the weekend for the division. These golfers had a great time competing against each other all weekend and look forward to competing against each other again in the future.
Girls 14-18 Division
Sarah Leonard from Roswell, Georgia was the winner of the girls 14-18 division. She came into the second round just three strokes back of the lead and was able to fight her way back after shooting an 88 in the second round for an overall score of 184. Ashley Harding out of Glen Cove, New York finished in second place after shooting a 93 in the first round followed by a 94 in the second round to finish the tournament with a 187 overall. Skye Braun from Scarsdale, New York finished in third place for the division with an overall score of 214 for the tournament. Leonard finished the tournament with a total of 13 pars. She also had a three-hole bogeyless streak to lead the division. All of the golfers had a great time competing against some of the best golfers in the country.
Boys 11-13 Division
David D’Agostino was the winner of the boys 11-13 division. D’Agastino from Belmont, Massachusetts shot a 94 in the first round, followed by an 82 in the second round to finish the tournament with an overall score of 176. Cameron Braun out of Scarsdale, New York took home second place for the division after shooting an 85 on Saturday and a 106 on Sunday. He finished the tournament with a 191 overall. D’Agostino finished with two birdies for the tournament to lead the division in this category. He also had a three-hole bogeyless streak to lead the division in this category as well. These golfers had a great time competing against each other throughout the weekend.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
