The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will be hosting the first Major Championship of 2014 on March 29-30 in Kingsport, Tennessee. Being played at Cattails at Meadowview Golf Club, this event will feature one of a kind amenities and rewards. This magnificent course is quickly becoming recognized as one of the top golf courses in Tennessee. Exclusive to HJGT major championship events is the use of caddies for all age divisions. The Major Championship at Cattails is open to all junior golfers between the ages of 11-18. This tournament has a lot up for grabs. The champion in each division will win AJGA Performance Stars if their respective field size requirements are met. Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings will be awarded to all divisions. The winners in each division will receive an automatic bid into the HJGT 2014 Tour Championship and Mid-Season Invitational. Additionally, the top 20 finishers will receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, ALL HJGT teams and the Hurricane Cup. The event will be a two day, 36-hole, stroke play tournament. The first round will begin on Saturday with a single tee start running from 11AM-2PM. The second round, on Sunday, will also be a single tee start with times ranging from 9AM-12PM. The registration fee is $185 for members and $215 for non-members. Cattails at MeadowView, a Denis Griffiths design, originally opened in 1998 in Kingsport, Tennessee, which was recently named the second best golf city in America by Golf Digest magazine. Cattails Golf Course features Bermuda fairways and Bentgrass greens, boasting picturesque holes lying at the base of the scenic Bays Mountain. The links style front nine offers gently rolling terrain combined with greenside mounds and bunkers. The back nine features a target golf experience meandering through the woods. The course displays a moderate number of sand bunkers, a winding stream, six beautiful lakes, wide fairways and large putting greens, it is a fair yet challenging test of golf.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment.
