Major Championship at Trophy Club

(July 1-2, 2017)

  The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour was in Lebanon, Ohio the weekend of July 1-2 to host the Major Championship at Trophy Club. The players were treated to beautiful weather this weekend on an even more beautiful course. The top 3 finishers in each age division will receive an exemption into the 2017 National Championship December 2-3 2017 and the top 10 finishers from each age division receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, all HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup.   Boys 16-18

Boys 16-18 trophy club

In the Boys 16-18 division, Dylan Ertz of New Franklin, Ohio would be crowned champion. Dylan showed some excellent skill by shooting a (75, 78) 153 total on the weekend, which would give him a 5 stroke victory. There was a two way tie for second place between Ethan Lutz of Carmel, Indiana who shot a (78, 80) for 158 total and Baz Furry of Granger, Indiana who shot a very consistent (79, 79) for a total of 158. These boys put on a show for spectators and staff alike.     Boys 14-15 

Boys 14-15 Trophy Club

The Boys 14-15 age division champion was Julian Maxwell of Nashville, Tennessee who shot a (80,77) for a two day total of 157 to claim victory. Coming in second place was Josh Yoder of Granger, Indiana who shot an (82, 77) for a total of 159. Rounding out the top three was Jack Dumas of Le Claire, Iowa who shot a 160 total (82, 78). This division was extremely well contested.         Boys 11-13

Boys 11-13 Trophy Club

In the Boys 11-13 division, Rylan Wotherspoon of Florence, Kentucky put on a dominate weekend showing he was not going to be beaten. After the first round Rylan was the lowest round of the day with an even par 72! Holding the lead by four strokes. Coming into the 2nd round Rylan had all confidence he was going to put on another fantastic round. With a score of 73 for the 2nd round Rylan had claimed his title by a dominate 12 strokes. Coming in second place was Shubham Nain of Westmont, Illinois. He shot a (76-81) for a 157 total. Rounding out the field was Happy Gilmore of Bloomfield, Indiana who shot a (82, 81) for a 163 total on the weekend. These boys showed tremendous fortitude while trekking through a difficult course.   Boys 10U

Boys 10u Trophy club

In the Boys 10 and under division, Chandler Witt knew how to get our heads to turn and eyes to watch during his rounds here this weekend. The Champ claimed his title by shooting a two day total (105,101) 205. Thanks for coming out and competing with us Chandler.             Girls 14-18

Girls 14-18 trophy club

For the Girls 14-18 age division, Wynne Aldrich of Valparaiso, Indiana brought home the first place trophy this weekend. Wynne shot an (86, 75) for a 161 two day total. This total gave her a commanding ten stroke win. It was very tightly contested behind Wynne, three girls tied for second place with a 171 total. These girls were Emma Kelly, Emma Enchelmayer and Makenna Brown. All of these girls showed excellent skill while playing this difficult course.        Girls 13U

Girls 13u trophy club

In the Girls 13 and Under division, Elizabeth Anderson of Lockport, Illinois put on a winning performance amongst her competitors this weekend to claim her rightful title. After posting a first round 86, she came back during the 2nd round and shot an 84 to claim her title by 6 shots with a 170 total. Coming in second place was Gianna Clemente on Warrens, Ohio who shot a (89, 87) 176. Rounding out the field was Mary Keene Marrs who shot a very consistent (96, 96) for a two day total of 192. These girls all had fun playing on this beautiful course.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
