Major Championship at Timber Creek September 28-29
Daphne, Alabama is the destination for the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s sixth Major Championship of the season. The Major Championship at TimberCreek will feature some of the South’s greatest junior golfers. The tournament will be hosted by the TimberCreek Golf Club and will be ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard. Winners in the boys 15-18, boys 11-14, and the girls 15-18 will earn AJGA Performance Stars to be used toward exemptions into AJGA events as long as the field requirements are met. Winners in all four divisions receive an invite to the HJGT’s 2013 Tour Championship. Top 20 finishers will receive considerably more points than a standard HJGT event that go towards all end of the year honors. Those include All-HJGT teams, state teams, and points for the Hurricane Cup. A $50 Kikkor gift card will also be awarded to each winner. With this being a major championship, players in all divisions will be allowed to use a caddie. The Major Championship at TimberCreek will be a 36 hole stroke play event with registration starting at 8:00AM on Saturday, September 28th, leading to a single tee start from 9:00AM-12:00PM. Sunday will begin with a single tee from 9:00AM-12:00AM. Registration fees are $179 for HJGT members and $199 for non-members. For membership information please refer to our website(www.hjgt.org/basic-membership/). A 27-hole championship layout designed by Earl Stone, TimberCreek offers scenic views of spacious, rolling fairways carved from a forest of Dogwoods, Magnolias, and Pines. Elevation changes, wetland preserves, and bountiful wildlife accentuate the flowing terrain, creating an atmosphere truly unique from other courses in the Golf Coast region.
