The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Comes to Oregon


The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) invites you to play in the Major Championship at Pumpkin Ridge! This event will be held at the Ghost Creek course at Pumpkin Ridge in North Plains, Ore., on April 2-3. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to play in the first ever HJGT event in Oregon!

This event is a two-day, 36-hole event. Both rounds will begin with a single tee start from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Registration for members is $209 and $259 for non-members.

The Major Championship at Pumpkin Ridge is open to all golfers between the ages of 8-18. The event will have Junior Golf Scoreboard Ranking (JGS), possible American Junior Golf Performance Stars (AJGA), winners in each division will receive an invitation to the 2016 Tour Championship on Dec. 3-4, top three in each division will receive an invitation to the 2016 Druh Belts Mid Season Invitational at Chateau Elan on June 11-13, and top-20 finishers receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, all HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup.

American Junior Golf Association

  • This event does not have guaranteed AJGA stars. If this event meets the minimum requirements for any age division we will submit it to the AJGA for consideration. The minimums are as follows: Boys 14-15/Boys 16-18 = 40 players, Boys 11-13 = 20 players, Girls 14-18 = 12 players, and Girls under 13 = 6 players.

Junior Golf Scoreboard

  • Any division in which five or more competitors complete at least a 36-hole event.

Caddies

  • As one of over a dozen Major Championships in 2016, the Major Championship at Pumpkin Ridge allows for caddies.

Course Information


The Ghost Creek course at Pumpkin Ridge is a Bob Cupp design that utilizes the Portland area’s natural wetland terrain and is framed by lush trees and mountain vistas. The 1993 Nike Tour Championship (now known as the Web.com Tour) was played at Ghost Creek and the Pumpkin Ridge complex has hosted the 1996 U.S. Amateur Championship won by Tiger Woods and the 1997 and 2003 U.S. Women's Open.

Yardages for this event are as follows: Boys 10U: 4,966; Girls 13U: 5,056; Boys 11-13/Girls 14-18: 5,595; Boys 14-15/Boys 16-18: 6,693.
