  On April 29th and 30th 2017, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour continued its spring season at the renowned Gettysvue Polo Golf & Country Club. Both the weather and course were beautiful throughout the weekend. Players took advantage of these great conditions by entertaining spectators with two impressive rounds of golf. Winners in all five age divisions will receive an invitation to the Tour Championship later on this year and the top ten finishers also received points towards the end of the year Hurricane Cup and HJGT teams.   Boys 16-18 Division

In the Boys 16-18 Division, Bryson Morrell from Knoxville, Tennessee, took home first place and entertained spectators with consistent golf throughout the weekend. He captured the title with a two-day total of 149. His impressive rounds of 73 and 76 put him ahead of his competitors in a tight field. He clinched the victory with an eagle and two birdies on Sunday. Finishing second place was Tanner Harris, from Athens, Tennessee. He shot a 79 on Saturday and a 72 on Sunday for a total score of 151. Also earning trophies and tying for third place were Surapat Pareepart from Smyrna, Tennessee and Wyatt Samuels from Clarksville, Tennessee. They showcased their talent by shooting a two-day total of 157. Overall, the boys 16-18 division was competitive this weekend and the top finishers played great golf.     Boys 14-15 Division

In the Boys 14-15 Division, Buck Brumlow from Cartersville, Georgia, finished in first place. Buck claimed the title by shooting two birdies throughout the weekend. Buck shot an impressive 76 in the first round and a 75 in the second round for a two-day total of 151. In second place was Ike Joy, from Denver, North Carolina. He shot a two-day total of 154. Colin Alexander from Brentwood, Tennessee, finished in third place with a two-day total of 156. The Boys 14-15 division had an exciting week, and every competitor in the field displayed two high-quality rounds of golf.       Boys 11-13 Division

The Boys 11-13 Division has some promising talent. Luke Coyle from Campbellsville, Kentucky, took home first place this weekend. He won with a determined mindset and was able to put together a great tournament, scoring a total of 142. Shooting an 69 on Saturday and an 73 on Sunday, Luke finished the weekend with one eagle and ten birdies. Coming in second place was Rylan Wotherspoon from Florence, Kentucky. Rylan shot a 72 on Saturday and a 74 on Sunday, finishing with a score of 146 for the tournament. Finishing in third place was Casey Whiting from Jonesborough, Tennessee. He finished with a total score of 154. Overall, the Boys 11-13 Division brought their talent to the tournament and we were pleased to see great rounds of golf.       Girls 14-18 Division

The Girls 14-18 Division was competitive this weekend. Coming in first with a two-day total of 153 was Hannah Nall from Cleveland, Tennessee. She posted a 75 in her first round. She clinched the title with a solid 78 in the second round. Coming in second place was Sky Sload from Ashburn, Virginia. She had a two-day total of 154. In third place from Oakland, Tennessee, was Victoria England. Her two-day total was a solid 155. The Girls 14-18 Division once again proved to be one of the tightest groups this weekend.           Boys under 10 Division

Leo Huddleston from Maryville, Tennessee, claimed first place in our Boys under 10 Division with a two-day total of 183. He shot a 100 in the first round and 83 in the second round to take home the victory. Gavin played well, shooting a birdie and ten pars throughout the weekend. He earned his trophy by playing great golf throughout the tournament. The boys 10 and under division has a lot of potential and we are excited to see them again this spring.        

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
