Jacksonville, FL (Jan. 17): The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is anxiously awaiting their return to Kiawah Island, SC this year for the Kiawah Island Junior Challenge February 9-10. Challenge is the operative word here considering the event will be held at the sensational Cougar Point Golf Course. The top competitor from both the Boys 15-18 age division as well as the Girls 15-18 age division will be awarded four performance stars which will provide 1 exemption into an AJGA event. Additional incentive is that the event will be ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard, South Carolina Junior Golf Association, and Tarheel Youth Golf Association. Winners of each of the four age divisions (Boys 11-14, 15-18 & Girls 11-14, 15-18) will receive an automatic bid into the 2013 tour championship and the top 10 finishers receive points towards year end honors. The format for the tournament will be 36-hole stroke play, with a single tee start on both Saturday and Sunday. Registration will begin at 11AM and players will begin teeing off at noon both days. As previously mentioned there will be four age divisions. Registration for members is $179 and the non-member fee is $199. The aesthetics of the course are certainly pleasing to the eye as the front nine features beautiful views of the Kiawah River. Designed by Gary Player in 1996 this course has a difficult layout.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment.
