June Bobby Grace Players of the Month

 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is proud to be sponsored by Bobby Grace Putters. Throughout the year players are given the opportunity to win a free putter by separating themselves from their opponents with their on-course performance and becoming a Player of the Month. One player in each division will be chosen to receive this prestigious award. Each putter is customized with the official logo of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Players who receive this prize can be assured that they are taking home one of the best putters used in golf today. For the month of June, the Boys 15-18 Player of the Month is Wick Andrews of Columbia, South Carolina. Andrews had an impressive performance at the Greenwood Junior Challenge finishing with a two day total of 141 (-3). He was consistent during his first round to shoot a par 72, and finished strong in the final round with a 3 under par, 69. To achieve the victory Andrews had the most birdies (11) and an eagle after both rounds. Andrews received both South Carolina Junior Golf Association Heritage Points and Tarheel Youth Golf Association Points for his notable performance. Congratulations to Wick Andrews for being June’s Bobby Grace Player of the Month. In the Girls 15-18 division the Player of the Month is JiaXin Yang of Lake Mary, Florida. Yang finished even par 216 after the 54 Hole Mid Season Championship at Falcons Fire Golf Club. She was 2 strokes behind the leader in going into the third and final round and shot a remarkable bogey free 5 under 67 to win the championship. Throughout the tournament Yang scored par or better on over 90% of the holes she played. Her victory has earned her an AJGA exemption, an FJT exemption and an exemption for the Big I Qualifier for the state of Florida. In addition, she received national recognition as the tournament was ranked by Golfweek. For winning this the Mid Season Major in such extraordinary fashion, JiaXin Yang has deserved June’s Bobby Grace Player of the Month honor. The Boys 11-14 Division Player of the Month goes to States Fort of Evans, Georgia. This talented young golfer had a come from behind win at the Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy Junior Shootout. Going into the final round Fort was 2 shots off the lead and managed to pull off 6 birdies and a bogey to finish with a 5 under 67 and the one shot victory. His two day total was a 1 under 143 which came in part because of his impressive par 4 average of 3.85, which led the field. Congratulations to States Fort for being June’s Bobby Grace Player of the Month. In the Girls 11-14 division, Paige Lee Garris of West Palm Beach, Florida, is June’s Player of the Month. She captured first place at the 54 Hole Mid Season Championship at Falcons Fire Golf Club in Kissimmee, FL. Garris swept the statistical categories in her division. Garris carded two birdies over the three days and recorded thirty-two pars to finish with a three-round total of 242 (82,80,80). Garris also earned third place honors at the Jacksonville Area Golf Association Jr. Championship to round out a very productive month.
