July Bobby Grace Players of the Month

JULY PLAYERS OF THE MONTH

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is proud to be partnered with Bobby Grace Putters to bring you the Bobby Grace Players of the Month. During each month of the calendar year players will be competing to separate themselves from their peers with their on-course performance to be crowned the Bobby Grace Player of the Month. Each month a player from each division will be chose to receive this award and will receive a free Bobby Grace Putter. Each putter is customized with the official logo of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Players who receive this prize can be assured that they are taking home one of the best putters used in golf today. For the month of July, the winner in the Boys 15-18 Division is Shanren Brienen of Orlando, Florida. Brienen took home the 1st place trophy at the Summer Classic at Shingle Creek in dramatic fashion. In his hometown of Orlando, Brienen shot a total score of -1 (70, 73) and won the event during a fiercely contested playoff. Briened played well throughout the course of the tournament carding a tournament high nine (9) birdies and had a very impressive par 4 average of 3.95. In addition to the win at Shingle Creek, Brienen also added a top-ten finish to his resume at the College Prep Series at Clemson. Congratulations are in order for Shanren Brienen on winning the July Bobby Grace Player of the Month award. In the Girls 15-18 Division, Emily Kurey of Alpharetta, Georgia is this month’s Bobby Grace Player of the Month. Kurey put on an absolutely stellar performance as she took home the top honors at the College Prep Series at Clemson. Kurey finished the two-day tournament at Clemson with a total score of 139, which was good enough to earn her a twelve (12) shot victory over the rest of the field. During the first day of competition, Kurey posted the low score of the entire tournament with an eighteen hole score of -5 (67).  Kurey bested the competition in nearly every statistical category. She led the field with nine (9) birdies, a par or better average of 88.9%, and a perfect par 4 average of 4.00. Taking first place in the College Prep Series at Clemson also earned  Kurey four (4) performance stars for the AJGA. This extraordinary performance made Emily Kurey a clear choice for the July Bobby Grace Player of the Month. The Boys 11-14 Division Player of the Month honors go to Graydon Kent of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Kent finished 1st place at the Summer Classic at Shingle creek on the 7th and 8th of July. Kent earned the top spot with a two-round total of 143 (-1). Kent shot an impressive -1 (71) during the first day and followed it up with a score of even par (72) on the final day of competition. Kent achieved this impressive score with a score of par or better on 91.7% of the holes played in competition. This very impressive average was achieved by the division-leading twenty-nine (29) pars Kent recorded and his par 4 average of 3.90. Kent’s exceptional performance at the Summer Classic at Shingle Creek is what earned him the distinction of July’s Bobby Grace Player of the Month. Receiving Player of the Month honors in the Girls 11-14 Division is Navika Kuchakulla of Orlando, Florida. Kuchakulla also had a marvelous performance in her hometown of Orlando at the Summer Classic at Shingle Creek. Kuchakulla finished first overall in her division with a two-day score of +6 (150), good enough to finish nine (9) strokes ahead of the field. Kuchakulla’s impressive performance was highlighted by her par of better average of 80.6%, recording a score a par on twenty-seven (27) of the thirty-six (36) holes of competition. Kuchakulla was also perfect on the par threes during the Summer Classic at Shingle Creek, with an average of 3.00. It was an exceptionally productive month for Kuchakulla and it will be capped off by receiving the highly coveted Bobby Grace Player of the Month award.   The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour and Bobby Grace Putters are very proud of these competitors for their performance in the month of July.
