The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) is proud to announce July's NYX Players of the Month. The players with the five lowest tournament scores of the month have been named the HJGT’s NYX Players of the Month for June, 2015. This year the HJGT and NYX have partnered together to provide these players with their own free pair of NYX sunglasses. The sunglasses that each junior golfer will receive range in retail price from $35 to $79. Tyler Lippert took the Boy’s 15-18 division finishing with a 139 at the Kentucky Summer Classic. It was a tight match as two others in this even finished at par. Tyler was able to finish 1 under the first day and 4 under the second day to finish at a remarkable 5 under. He stepped up the second day, making sure to stay ahead of the four others that finished under par for the day. This is the first HJGT event Tyler played in this year, and he stole the show! In the Girls 15-18 Division, Maria Vesga took the title as July’s NYX Player of the Month. She took first place at the Summer Classic at Eagle Creek, finishing six under. It was not an easy victory for Maria, as the second place finisher finished one stroke behind. This was Maria first and only HJGT event this year and she turned some heads. In the Boy’s 13-14 division Juan Cayro Delgado of Santo Domingo was crowned the champion at the Summer Classic at Eagle Creek. Delgado not only had the best score in his division, but also of all the divisions! He finished the event with a two-day total of 138, finishing 8 strokes under par. In the Girl’s 11-14 division, Lillian Berry of Dover, FL clinches the title as July’s NYX Player of the Month. Berry finished with a two-day total of 144 at Hunter’s Green Junior Shootout. During the two days, Berry shot a 73 and 71, finishing at an even par. Berry won the event with ease finishing 15 strokes ahead of the second place finisher. This was Berry’s first HJGT event and she was able to finish first and capture this award! Congratulations to Lillian Berry for earning the Girl’s 11-14 July NYX Player of the Month Honors. In the Boy’s 11-12 division Jake Peacock of Alpharetta, GA won the honors of July’s Player of the Month. Peacock won the Major Championship at Pinetree finishing with a 149, just one over par. This was Peacock’s third HJGT event this year. He also played in the College Prep Series at UGA where he finished 3rd and the Canongate Series #3 (3 day tournament) where he finished in 1st! We enjoy watching Peacock and are excited to see the success he has in the future! Congratulations to Jake for earning Boy’s 11-12 July NYX Player of the Month Honors.
