  On Monday, July 31st, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to the picturesque Trump National Doral resort and Spa in Doral, Florida. With a stunning backdrop provided by the clubhouse, the players enjoyed unbelievable weather during both days of play. And while the President did not show up, there was certainly a lot of buzz around the players as they got to play at one of the premier resort courses in the country.   Boys 16-18

Guido Damien Fraga of Buenos Aires, AR, is the Boys 16-18 champion. Fraga played some fantastic golf the entire tournament, carding a first round of 74 followed with a 73 the second day for three over par, recording a total of 147. Ryan Dever of Davie, FL, finished second with a two day total of 151 (75-76). Matthew Soucinek of Lake City, FL, came in third with a two day total of 154 (75-79). The players had a great time competing on a course as prestigious as the Blue Monster.   Boys 14-15

Jiarong Liu of Huhhot, NA, is the Boys 14-15 division champion. With an impressive 75 on the first day of play Liu played with the lead during the entire second day and finished with a two day total of 163 (75-88). Nicholas Estrada of Lake Worth, FL, came in a close second with a two day total of 166 (84-82). Papon Sawatyanon of Bangkok, Thailand, rounded out the top 3 with a two day total of 167 (85-82). This division had great competition and each player can walk away proud of their effort.   Boys 11-13


Gustavo Rangel of Palma Real, PR, is your Boys 11-13 division champion. After a sublime 67 that left him with a two stroke lead, Gustavo played the weather and cruised home with a two day total of 145 (67-78). Nicolas Sabogal Burgos of Weston, FL, and Virglio Ignacio Paz Valdes of Boca Raton, FL, tied for second with 148. John Marshall of Miami, FL, came in third with a two day total of 152 (76-76).     Girls 14-18

Sifan He of Wesley Chapel, FL, won the Girls 14-18 division. With a fantastic 75 during the first day of play, Sifan cruised home in 81 to post a two day total of 156. Tori Bien of Hollywood, FL, came in close second with a two day total of 157 (78-79). Wyndom Burnett came close third with a two day 158 (75-83). The girls had a blast on the scenic Doral layout and the scores showed it.     Girls 13U


Sophie Anand of Albany, The Bahamas, is the winner the Girls U13 division. Posting a two day total of 175 Sophie displayed fantastic composure on such a tough course. Coming in second was Morgan Rodriguez of Delray Beach, FL, with a two day total of 183 (97-86). Camila Amaya of Singer Island, FL, came in close third with a two day 187 (96-91). All of the girls displayed tremendous fortitude while trekking through the difficult course layout.   Boys 10U

Josh Lieberman of Parkland, FL, won the Boys U10 division with a two day total of 184 (88-96).  Coming in second was Santiago Andres Navarro Vascotto of Caracas, DF, with a two day total of 198 (97-101). On a course as long and tough as this one, it is amazing the boys could post scores such as these.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
