The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will be making its return to Virginia to host a Hurricane Tour Shop Series event. The tournament will take place on April 26-27 at the Crossings Golf Club in Glen Allen, Virginia. The course is known as one of the top 10 public golf courses in Virginia and is one of the most playable and scenic championship tests of golf in the area. The Hurricane Tour Shop Series is open to all junior golfers between the ages of 11-18. This tournament has a lot up for grabs. The champion in each division will win AJGA Performance Stars if their respective field size requirements are met. Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings will be awarded to all divisions as well. The winners in each division will receive an automatic bid into the HJGT 2014 Tour Championship and Mid-Season Invitational. The top three finishers will also be invited to the Tour Shop Series Invitational. Additionally, the top ten finishers will receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, ALL HJGT teams and the Hurricane Cup. The event will be a two day, 36-hole, stroke play tournament. The first round will begin on Saturday with a single tee start running from 11AM-2PM. Following first round of play will be a special tour shop series after party featuring food, drink, contests, giveaways and prizes. The second round, on Sunday, will also be a single tee start with times ranging from 8AM-11AM. The registration fee is $189 for members and $219 for non-members. A must play in the central Virginia area, the course makes optimal use of the natural landscape featuring rolling fairways that are bordered by dense forest and strategically placed bunkers. The Crossings has held various events such as qualifying for the U.S. Public Links Championship, Web.com Tour qualifying and is the first choice for over 100 corporate outings each year. About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment.
