Jacksonville, FL (June 12, 2013): As the Summer temps continue to beam down on Florida, the HJGT continues to roll through the summer, and the tour will be in Tampa on July 15-16 at Hunter’s Green Country Club for the Hunter’s Green Junior Shootout. The event will be ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard and will have AJGA Performance Stars up for grabs for the Boys 15-18 champion, and the Girls 15-18 champion will receive those AJGA Performance Stars if the field size requirements are met. Winners in both boys divisions and the Girls 15-18 division will receive a Florida Golf Tour exemption. All winners will receive an invitation to the HJGT’s 2013 Tour Championship and top ten finishers will receive points towards the Hurricane Cup and end of year honors. Those honors include All-HJGT teams and state teams. The Hunter’s Green Junior Shootout will also feature the Summer Series Member Guest. Members will play with a guest on Sunday, July 14, in a combined stroke play event. Winners will receive great prizes and it promises to be a great way to prepare for Monday’s opening round. The 36-hole stroke play tournament will begin Monday with a 7:30AM start off both tees, and will conclude Tuesday with a double tee start at 7:30AM as well. Registration for members is $179 and $199 for non-members. There is also an all inclusive option for $324 that includes tournament fee as well as the entry fee for the Member Guest that includes lunch as well as a Member Guest dinner with awards. Hunter’s Green Country Club is a private club featured around the natural beauty of Florida’s trees, greens, fairways, and lakes. The Tom Fazio design is a jewel among courses and it is sure to test golfers from the junior to professional ranks.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 15-18 and Girls 11-14.
