The HJGT Head Back to Hilton Head
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) will make its way to Hilton Head, South Carolina to host the Kikkor Golf Series at Golden Bear Golf Club. The event will take place on September 8th and 9th, 2012 on the Indigo Run course. The level of competition is sure to be heightened due to the large number of rankings and prizes at stake. At the top of this list is AJGA Performance Stars, which will be given to the winners in both the Boys 15-18 Division and Girls 15-18 Division. Competitors will also be eligible to receive South Carolina Junior Golf Association Heritage Points (SCJGA) and Tarheel Youth Golf Association Points (TYGA). The Kikkor Golf Series at Golden Bear will also be ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard Ranking (NJGS). In addition to these opportunities, winners in each division will receive a free pair of Kikkor Golf Shoes and an automatic bid into the 2012 Tour Championship. These highly coveted rankings and prizes will surely motivate these competitors and foster intense competition. The Kikkor Golf Series at Golden Bear will consist of two rounds of eighteen (18) holes on each of the two days of competition. The event will be played in the stoke play format. The players will compete across four (4) separate divisions based on their age. The divisions will be Boys 15-18, Girls 15-18, Boys 11-14, and Girls 11-14. The Golden Bear Golf Course is a top-notch venue and stands out from the many other golfing options in Hilton Head. This Jack Nicklaus designed course is not only visually impressive, but the ever-present water and sand will give players ample challenges. The course winds through the beautiful South Carolina landscape as each hole provides players with a new and unique challenge. Golden Bear was designed to demand strategy and control, instead of sheer power. This layout will test all aspects of the player’s game. The course plays, at its longest, 6,643 yards, making it very competitive, yet still playable for competitors of any competency. The combination of a world-renowned course designer, stunning landscape and visuals, as well as a challenging course layout, will provide the perfect stage for these talented young golfers to showcase their golf game.
