Largest Junior Golf Tour partners with LPGA Professional Golfer

HJGT signs exclusive deal with Amelia Lewis, a professional golfer on the LPGA and LET world tours.

 Jacksonville, Fl. - September 9, 2016

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is excited to announce it has signed LPGA professional golfer Amelia Lewis as the official LPGA tour ambassador of the HJGT. As a philanthropist and intensely youth-focused, LPGA Professional Golfer Amelia Lewis fit that bill as a perfect partner for the HJGT.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour and Lewis complement each other nicely due to Lewis’ “never give up attitude” that inspires youth golfers. Lewis wants to help grow junior golf, specifically inspiring young girls to work hard and enjoy golfing.  In fact, after a seven-week stint on the tour, Amelia came home for only a one week break in July. During that brief time home she elected to play in a local pro-jr golf tournament with the youngest junior girls group. She was quoted as saying, “it’s not about winning at that age, it’s about having fun”. That solidified the decision for Executive Director Mario Conte to reach out to her camp and inquire about a partnership.

“The HJGT is so excited to be working with Amelia Lewis as our official LPGA ambassador.  I have known the Lewis family for a very long time and their values and integrity match up with what we preach here at the HJGT. Amelia is a rising star on the LPGA and LET and we could not be more thrilled to support her and offer our young female golfers exciting opportunities to work with Amelia and the LPGA." said Mario Conte, HJGT Executive Director.

Lewis brings to the relationship a strong social media influence and is currently ranked in the top 6% of most influential people on social media by klear.com.  Creating a fun atmosphere on and off the golf course will be the main objective with the HJGT.  Monthly golf training aids, gadgets, golf balls, etc. will be gifted to junior golfers through a series of entertaining and challenging contests on the social platforms.

Amelia Lewis will title sponsor the girls National Championship December 3-4 in Champions Gate, FL. This event will feature one of the largest and deepest girl’s fields in the world. Amelia will be speaking to the players prior to the tournament and will be on site throughout the weekend. One of the most exciting additions to this event is that the champion of the Girls 14-18 division and the champion of the Girls under 13 division will earn the chance to caddy for Amelia Lewis at a 2017 LPGA tournament. The caddy opportunity will be TBA based on the schedules of the LPGA, Amelia, and the division champions. The champions will be able to caddy 18 holes of a practice round (Monday or Tuesday).

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is the largest Junior Golf Tour in the Nation expanding coast to coast in 32 different states with 275 events scheduled this year.  Lewis has a total of 54 amateur titles around the world at the age of 25. Lewis has multiple LPGA top ten finishes and 5 European Tour top ten finishes. Lewis was also recently mentioned in the Florida Times Union about helping to building the community, a value taught at home and reinforced at her high school alma mater The Bolles School.
