The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will be local Monday, June 16-Tuesday, June 17, for the Jacksonville Jr. Challenge presented by InstaGolf. This event will be held in our home base of Jacksonville, FL at Deerwood Country Club. The Jacksonville Jr. Challenge presented by InstaGolf is open to all junior golfers between the ages of 11-18. This tournament has a lot at stake. The champion in each division will win AJGA Performance Stars if their respective field size requirements are met. Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings will be awarded to all divisions.  Additionally, the top ten finishers will receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, ALL HJGT teams and the Hurricane Cup. The event will be a two day, 36-hole, stroke play tournament. The first round will begin on Monday with a double tee start running from 7:30AM-9:30AM. The second round, on Tuesday, will begin with a double tee start at 7:30AM-9:30AM. The registration fee is $185 for members and $215 for non-members. For 2014 membership information please refer to our website.   Deerwood Country Club’s golf course was built in 1960 by renowned golf course architect, George Cobb. During the 1970's, Deerwood was put on the map by being home to several Greater Jacksonville Opens, the predecessor for today's THE PLAYERS Championship (TPC). The entire golf facility underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2004 with a new design by award-winning golf course architect, Brian Silva. The Par 72 course has five sets of tees ranging from 5,463 yards from the reds to 7,223 yards from the championship tees making this course beginner-friendly yet also challenging to the expert golfer.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 11-14 and Girls 15-18.
