Greenville, SC (Oct. 6-7)-The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) will be traveling to Taylors, SC to host the Major Championship at Pebble Creek. The tournament will be held at the Pebble Creek Golf Club . Up for grabs in this tournament is a free pair of Kikkor shoes to the winner of each division. The winners in every division will also receive an automatic bid to the year-end Tour Championship, as well as rankings by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard (NJGS), the Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA), and the South Carolina Junior Golf Association (SCJGA). Points for this tournament will be 1.5 times the normal amount, as well as 4 AJGA Performance stars for Boys and Girls 15-18 Division winners. The Major Championship at Pebble Creek is a two day event under stroke play format. Each day players will play eighteen (18) holes of golf, to make for a thirty-six (36) hole tournament in total. There will be four separate divisions for competition. Players will be put in divisions based on age and the divisions will be as follows: Boys 15-18, Girls 15-18, Boys 11-14, and Girls 11-14. Pebble Creek offers 36 championship golf holes set over 500 acres of ponds, natural dogwoods and mountain-fed creeks in Upstate South Carolina. The semi-private Creekside course measures almost 6,500 yards and is playable for golfers of all ability levels. Opened in 1972, and designed by world class designer Tom Jackson, the Creekside course offers Bermuda grass with an overall Par of 71.
