HJGT ALL SET FOR EVENT IN TAMPA, FL
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) heads to the west coast of Florida to host the Tampa Bay Junior Open. This bay area event is set to take place at Saddlebrook Resort on the Palmer Course. This two-day event will begin on September 15th and will conclude on September 16th of 2012. In addition to this already world-renowned venue, the Tampa Bay Junior Open will feature an impressive list of rankings and prizes. First and foremost this event will earn the top finisher in the Boys 18-15, Girls 15-18, and Boys 11-14 Division, one (1) Florida Junior Tour (FJT) Exemption. These exemptions are precious commodities sought after by all junior golfers in the state of Florida. Also, each player who finishes in the top ten (10) will receive points toward year end honors. Lastly, the event will be ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard (NJGS) and the winner in each division of competition will receive an automatic bid into the 2012 Tour Championship in Orlando, FL. With so much up for grabs, this tournament will definitely attract some of the best competition throughout Florida and the Southeast as a whole. The Tampa Bay Junior Open will be played in the standard HJGT format. Competitors will play a round of eighteen (18) on both Saturday and Sunday during the event. The format for the competition will be stroke play. The players participating in the event will compete across four different divisions based on age. There will be both a boys and girls division for players ages eleven (11) to fourteen (14) and there will also be a division for both boys and girls for competitors ages fifteen (15) to eighteen (18). The Saddlebrook Resort is one of the paramount resorts in the state of Florida and the golf facilities it houses are no different. The Palmer Course at Saddlebrook is a beautiful eighteen (18) hole track that plays at 6,641 yards. The course takes its name from the world-renowned golfer and course designer, Arnold Palmer, who designed the course. Palmer has created a stunning course that masterfully incorporates the beautiful Tampa Bay landscape. The course incorporates pines, palms, and the Florida wildlife with its immaculate fairways and the well-manicured greens. The Palmer course also features numerous water features, including lakes, ponds, and streams, not only adding to the aesthetic value, but also to present the players with many unique challenges. The Saddlebrook Resort and the Palmer Course are both unparalleled in the Tampa Bay area and will be an ideal venue for these young golfers to exhibit their skills.
