The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Alumni Spotlight features Bowling Green University's Men’s Golf Athlete
During his high school career, Max participated in a great number of HJGT Tournaments, and consistently finished with great results. In 2013, Max Participated in 5 tournaments with us, claiming the title for the Major Championship at Timber Creek, JWU Series at Timacuan and the Orlando Junior Challenge. At the JWU Series at Timacuan, Max shot consistent rounds Saturday and Sunday (73-72). With 21 pars and 7 birdies he managed par or better on 77.8% of the 36 holes throughout the weekend. To secure first, Max shot a par on hole 1 of the two man playoff with Austin Hitt. During the Orlando Jr. Challenge, Max was able to score 29 pars, which led the field, propelling him to victory.
In 2012, Max was the champion for the prestigious Central Florida Junior Classic. Max, started the second round trailing by three strokes to both Alex Shattuck of Lake Mary, Florida and Manuel Torres of Orlando, Florida. Max responded nicely to this deficit by beginning the second round with 7 consecutive pars followed by a birdie on a long par 5 fifth hole. By the end of the second round, Max finished with a total score of 141(-3), in addition to winning the Par 5 Performance Challenge with an average of 4.38.
Max has been an outstanding player not only on the HJGT tour, but at the Bowling Green University as well.
In the 2015-16 season turned in a stroke average of 77.73 over 11 rounds of play on the year. Max also played in four tournaments on the year and carded a low round 72 in the first round of the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational.
