The HJGT is back in South Carolina on June 1-2 for the Greenwood Junior Challenge. This event will be hosted by the Greenwood Country Club. The venue promises to be a challenging layout for the field. There are AJGA Performance Stars up for grabs, provided that field requirements are met. South Carolina Junior Golf Association Heritage points as well as Tarheel Youth Golf Association are also on the line. Champions in each division will receive an automatic bid to the 2013 Tour Championship. Top ten finishers will receive points toward the year-end honors including state teams, All-HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup. The Greenwood Junior Challenge is a 36-hole stroke play event with Saturday’s round being a double tee start from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Sunday’s round will also be a double tee start, but golfer’s will get an earlier start, with tee times lasting from 6:30am-9:30am. The awards ceremony will follow the event Sunday where top 3 finishers in each division will be handed out trophies. The player in each division who accumulates the most birdies will be awarded an EFX bracelet and each division will have a comeback player, awarded to the individual who shaves the most strokes off of their score from Saturday to Sunday. About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 15-18 and Girls 11-14.
