Jacksonville, Florida: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) invites you to play in the Grandover Junior Shootout. This event will be held at the Grandover Resort – East Course in Greensboro, N.C. on Feb. 27-28. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to play one of North Carolina’s premier golf courses! The Grandover Junior Shootout is open to all golfers between the ages of 8-18. The event will have Junior Golf Scoreboard Ranking (JGS), winners in each division will receive in an exemption into the 2016 Tour Championship December 3-4, 2016, top 3 in each division will receive an exemption into the 2016 Mid Season Invitational at Chateau Elan June 11-13, 2016, South Carolina Junior Golf Association Heritage points (SCJGA), Tarheel Youth Golf Association points (TYGA), and top 10 finishers receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, ALL HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup.
American Junior Golf Association:
- This event does not have guaranteed AJGA stars. If this event meets the minimum requirements for any age division we will submit it to the AJGA for consideration. The minimums are as follows: Boys 14-15/Boys 16-18 = 40 players, Boys 11-13 = 20 players, Girls 14-18 = 12 players, and Girls under 13 = 6 players.
Junior Golf Scoreboard:
- Any division in which five or more competitors complete at least a 36-hole event.
This event is a two-day, 36-hole event. Both rounds will begin with a double tee start from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Registration for members is $195 and $245 for non-members. The Grandover Resort East Course opened in 1996 and has quickly ascended to the top of the list of premier golf courses in North Carolina. Architects Gary Panks and David Graham have designed a track with tree-lined fairways with several green complexes that feature a stadium effect around them. The par-72 layout features tees ranging from 5,260-7,200 yards to provide a challenge for golfers of any level.
