The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour based out of Jacksonville, FL will be making its inaugural 2013 trip to Augusta, GA when the HJGT hosts the Forest Hills Junior Open at the spectacular Forest Hills Golf Club. The HJGT has made many trips to Georgia this season, but should be especially excited to be heading to Augusta on August 3-4. Winners in boys 15-18, boys 11-14, and girls 15-18 will receive American Junior Golf Association Performance Stars to be used towards exemptions into AJGA events as long as field size requirements are met. In addition, winners in all divisions will receive an invite to the HJGT’s 2013 Tour Championship at Champions Gate in Florida. Top ten finishers will earn valuable points for end of the year honors, including the inaugural Hurricane Cup. Champions of each division will also receive $50 gift cards from Kikkor Golf. In addition to all of these rewards, winners of each division will also receive South Carolina Junior Golf Association Heritage Points as well as Tarheel Youth Golf Association Points. The format for this event is a 36 hole stroke play tournament held over two days, Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4. Registration for the event will commence at 6:30AM on August 3. Both the first and second rounds will feature a double tee start from 7:30AM–9:30AM. Registration for members is $179 and non-members can register for $199. For membership information please refer to our website (www.hjgt.org/basic-membership/) Forest Hills Golf Course is repeatedly named “Best Public Golf Course” by Augusta Magazine and holds much history as many PGA veterans, such as Phil Mickelson and Davis Love III, competed on this course in college events before they became great. The aesthetics of the course are also pleasing to the eye as the course offers traditional Southern topography with level, rolling fairways surrounded by magnificent trees. Designed by world renowned golf course architect Donald Ross and redesigned by the Arnold Palmer Company in 2004, this course carries a tradition of excellence into the Forest Hills Junior Open.
