Hurricane Junior Golf Tour's very own Ewen Ferguson won The Boys British Amateur Championship this past weekend. Ferguson, who is third in the HJGT Boys 15-18 Division for points with 4,325 and a student at the JPGA , is the first Scot to win the Championship is almost a decade.
The 17-year-old from Bearsden came from three down after the first five holes to defeat Germany's Michael Hirmer, 10 and 9 in the 36-hole final at Royal Liverpool. This is absolutely amazing. I've worked hard over the last two years and this has made it all worthwhile," Ferguson said. "It is a great moment for me and it's even more special because my family have come down to see it. Mom and dad have made a lot of sacrifices for me over the years, and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank them for everything they have done." Some previous winners include Jose Maria Olazabal (1983), Sergio Garcia (1997) and last year's winner, Matt Fitzpatrick, who won the U.S. Amateur on Sunday. Read more on Ewen Ferguson here.
