History of the Fenton Cup:

The Fenton Cup is a prestigious award that was lost 3 years ago. The son of the founders, Russ Fenton, made it a goal of his to track it down and find it. After searching all over Georgia Russ found the trophy at one of the many Canongate courses. Ike and Eloise Fenton created the Fenton Cup in 1998, because of the lack of junior golf in the Peachtree City area. The tournament grew steadily over the next 13 years, and grew so big that Nike tried to buy the cup from the Fenton’s. When Canongate and HJGT partnered up the Cup was lost in translation. Now that Russ Fenton found the Cup, HJGT is glad to be hosting the tournament for the second year in a row as well as presenting it to the Fenton Cup at Flat Creek Boys and Girls 14-18 division winners. In conjunction with Russ Fenton, all proceeds from the Fenton Cup at Flat Creek will be donated to the HJGT’s sister 501c, “Drive for Juniors.” Drive for Juniors has been helping to grow the game of junior golf by assisting players and their families. Since 2014, Drive for Juniors has contributed over $30,000 in tournament entry fees and travel expenses for those in need. Russ Fenton has already donated multiple times to the drive and is happy to once again work in conjunction with it to help the game of junior golf.
