Consistency Pays off for Eisch; Garris Extends Lead on Sunday

Eisch stays consistent, breezes by competition

Paige Lee takes home first

Tarpon Springs, Florida (February 26, 2012) The Hurricane Junior Golf tour closed out February on a high note this past weekend at Crescent Oaks Country Club. Countries such as Mexico, Taiwan, Singapore and the United States all had great players representing them this weekend at our Bobby Grace Jr. Open event. It wasn’t perfect weather but the players battled through some rainy conditions to make for a great weekend. A special thanks goes out to Crescent Oaks Country Club and all their staff members that helped us make sure this tournament was a successful one. In the boys 11-14 division Robby Eisch from Tampa, Florida took home first place with a two day total of 152(77+75).  Eisch was also tied for the lead in overall pars with a total of 21. What kept Eisch ahead of his competition were his pars or better percentage at 69.4.  Diandian Hu from Orlando, Florida along with Jake Ludwick (St. Augustine, FL) and Ryan Hicks (Clearwater, FL) tied for second place with a tournament score of 157. Ludwick led the trio after round one shooting a 79 but Hu shot a tournament low 74 to help him close the gap. Hicks also picked up ground on day two posting a competitive 76. Along with winning the tournament Eisch also had the best par 4 performance with a 4.15 average and won Seaforth rain gear for his efforts. With overall birdies we had another tie with 6 players making four birdies throughout their rounds. Although Guillermo Cortina didn’t crack the top 3 he was able to win a CoolHead by having the best par 5 scoring average at an even 5.00. On the girls side, Paige Lee Garris from West Palm Beach, FL was the champion in the 11-14 division with an impressive two day total of (84+82) 166. Paige Lee posted the most birdies in her division with 2 and pars, with 17. Kelsy Holbert out of Lutz, FL came in second after a score of (93+84) 177, eleven shots behind the leader. Paige Lee also posted a competitive 5.12 on all par 5 holes and was the deserving winner of Par 5 performance CoolHead.
