Collegiate Amateur Tour

About the Tour New for 2012 is the Hurricane Collegiate Amateur Tour. This exciting new summer series will be comprised of four events at PGA tour quality venues scheduled around major USGA qualifiers and championships. The Hurricane Collegiate Amateur Tour was created to give both men and women the opportunity to compete on a high level at some of the most premier courses in the country. The series will kick off June 5-6 at Disney’s Osprey Ridge.   Click here to view the complete schedule   Who is eligible? The Hurricane Collegiate Amateur Tour is open to players between the ages of 18-23. This tour is ideal for HJGT alumni, collegiate players, 2012 grads, and any amateur player looking for competition at premier venues.   Format All events will consist of 54 holes; 36 of which will be played on the first day. Players will ride in golf carts during tournament play. All start times will be approximately 8am.   Early Bird Promo

With this exciting new tour comes an exciting early bird promo. If you sign up for a Hurricane Amateur Collegiate event by April 15th you will receive a dozen of Bridgestone B330 golf balls for free! This is a 40$ value. We will mail them to you directly once you register for the event. You will receive the balls with 6-10 business days.   What’s at stake? The World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) will rank all Hurricane Collegiate Amateur Tour events. The WAGR is the premier amateur ranking system in the world. The World Amateur Golf Ranking system ranks the top amateur golfers in the world on the basis of their average performance in counting events over a rolling cycle of the previous 52 weeks.   Also Footjoy will provide all tournament champions with a brand new pair of custom myjoys.   Age Divisions and Yardages Men 18-23: 7,000 yards- 7,200 yards Women 18-23: 6,000 yards- 6,200 yards   The course setup will mirror that of a college tournament.   Tournament Fees No tour membership is required. The tournament entry fee for each event is $235, which includes 54 holes of golf, cart, range balls, snacks and cold drinks on course, and a dozen of Bridgestone B330 golf balls.   How to register All participants may register online at www.hjgt.org on a first come first serve basis. All field sizes will be limited. Hover over the “tournaments” tab and than click on “collegiate amateur tour”. From there click on the “info” page and you will see a “register now” button.
