The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) is excited to invite you to one of our final Georgia events for 2014! Our ever popular College Prep Series makes its final 2014 showing; this time at the University of Georgia! The College Prep Series at UGA will be held at the University of Georgia Golf Course on Saturday November 1st- through Sunday November 2nd. With over 70 players from over 6 states currently in the active field and AJGA Stars already at stake, this event is a great opportunity to compete with some of the best players on tour at an incredible venue and it is sure to sell out. With each passing week, Hurricane Cup points become more crucial. Don’t miss out on the chance to represent your state in our 2014 Hurricane Cup, a Ryder Cup style invitational held at Sea Island Golf Club, exclusive home of the PGA’s McGladrey Classic. The College Prep Series at UGA is open to all golfers between the ages of 11-18. At stake in this event are opportunities to earn South Carolina Junior Golf Association Heritage Points (SCJGA), Tarheel Youth Golf Association Points (TYGA), Junior Golf Scoreboard Rankings (JGS), and AJGA Performance Stars if the respective field sizes are met within each age division. First place finishers in each division receive an automatic bid to the 2014 Tour Championship, held on December 6th-7th. Top 15 finishers receive points towards year end honors, including state teams, ALL HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup. This event is a two-day, 36 hole event. The first round will kick off Saturday, November 1st with a double tee start running from 8:00AM to 10:00AM. The second round will begin Sunday, November 9th with a double tee start running from 8:00AM to 10:00AM. Registration fees for HJGT members are $199 and $229 for non-members. The University Golf Course is as beautiful to look at as it is challenging to play. Set on the rolling terrain of northeast Georgia, this par 71 Robert Trent Jones layout is widely regarded as one of the best university courses in the United States. Renovated by Love Golf Design in 2006, the course in now up to the standards of modern championship play and is home to both of the University’s top ranked golf teams. While extremely challenging from the championship Bulldog Tees, the course has four other sets of tees to help golfers of all abilities enjoy their round on this classic layout.
