Legends on the Rise

  On, March 4th and 5th 2017, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour continued its spring season at the renowned Vanderbilt Legends Club. Both the weather and course were beautiful throughout the weekend. Players took advantage of these great conditions by entertaining spectators with two impressive rounds of golf. Winners in all six age divisions will receive an invitation to the Tour Championship later on this year and the top ten finishers also received points towards the end of the year Hurricane Cup and HJGT teams.   Boys 16-18 Division

In the Boys 16-18 Division, Micah Knisley from Jefferson City, Tennessee, took home first place and entertained spectators with consistent golf throughout the weekend. He captured the title with a two-day total of 145. His impressive rounds of 75 and 70 put him ahead of his competitors in a tight field. On Saturday, Micah had nine pars, and on Sunday he clinched the victory with ten pars and five birdies. Finishing second place was Coleman Jones, from Franklin, Tennessee. He shot a 72 on Saturday and a 74 on Sunday for a total score of 146. Also earning a trophy and finishing in third place from Tullahoma, Tennesse was Jacob Uehlein. Jacob showcased his talent by shooting a two-day total of 149. Overall, the Boys 16-18 Division was competitive this weekend and the top finishers played great golf.   Boys 14-15 Division

In the Boys 14-15 Division, Matthew Giesler from Marietta, Georgia, finished in first place after winning a three-hole-playoff. After being tied for third through Saturday, Matthew claimed the title by shooting an three birdies and thirteen pars on Sunday. Matthew shot a 77 in the first round and an impressive 71 in the second round for a two-day total of 148. Drew Doyle, from Louisville, Kentucky, finished in second place. He shot a two-day total of 148. Brendan Farrell, from Dunwoody, Georgia, had a strong tournament as well, claiming third place. Brendan shot a two-day total of 151. The Boys 14-15 Division had an exciting week, and every competitor in the field displayed two high-quality rounds of golf.     Boys 11-13 Division

The Boys 11-13 Division has some promising talent. Bo Maradik from Nashville, Tennessee, took home first place this weekend after winning a one-hole-playoff. He won with a determined mindset and was able to put together a great tournament, scoring a total of 149. Shooting a 76 on Saturday and a 73 on Sunday, Bo finished the weekend with five birdies and twenty-one pars. Coming in second place was Luke Coyle from Campbellsville, Kentucky. Luke shot a 75 on Saturday and improved with a 74 on Sunday, finishing with a score of 149 for the tournament. Tied for third place were Patton Samuels from Clarksville, Tennessee, and Charles Warren from Huntsville, Alabama. They both finished with a total score of 153. Overall, the Boys 11-13 Division brought their talent to the tournament and we were pleased to see great rounds of golf.   Boys 10 Under Division

Our Boys 10 Under Division was a two-horse race. Ian Lambert from Jackson, Missouri, claimed first place with a two-day total of 193. He shot a 95 in the first round and 98 in the second round to take home the victory. Ian played well, shooting a birdie and four pars throughout the weekend. He earned his trophy by playing great golf throughout the tournament. Finishing in second place was Laird Williams from Franklin, Tennessee. He shot a 104 on Saturday and a 100 on Sunday for a two-day total of 204. The Boys 10 and Under Division has a lot of potential and we are excited to see them again this spring.       Girls 14-18 Division

The Girls 14-18 Division was competitive this weekend. Coming in first with a two-day total of 146 was Kynadie Adams from Gallatin, Tennessee. She posted a 75 in her first round, which included two birdies. She clinched the title with a solid 71 in the second round. Coming in second place from Franklin, Tennessee, was Shelly Jang. She had a two-day total of 157. In third place from Nicholasville, Kentucky, was Laney Frye. Her two-day total was a solid 162. The Girls 14-18 Division once again proved to be one of the tightest groups this weekend.
