The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Comes to Lexington
The College Prep Series at the University of Kentucky is set for April 9-10
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) invites you to play in the College Prep Series at the University of Kentucky! This event will be held on April 9-10 at the Wildcat course at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky. This event is the first of two HJGT events at UK. Our second College Prep Series at UK will be at the Big Blue course on May 21-22. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to play where the Wildcats play! This event is a two-day, 36-hole event. Both rounds will begin with a double tee start from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Registration for members is $195 and $245 for non-members. The College Prep Series at UK is open to all golfers between the ages of 8-18. The event will have possible Junior Golf Scoreboard Ranking (JGS), possible American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) stars, winners in each division will receive an invitation to the 2016 Tour Championship on Dec. 3-4, top three in each division will receive an invitation to the 2016 Mid Season Invitational at Chateau Elan on June 11-13, 2016, and top-10 finishers receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, all HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup.
American Junior Golf Association
- This event has guaranteed AJGA stars for the following divisions: Boys 14-18 Champion = 4 Performance Stars, Boys 14-18 Top 5 = 1 Performance Star, Girls 14-18 Champion = 4 Performance Stars, Girls 14-18 Top 3 = 1 Performance Star
- If a division is not listed above as guaranteed AJGA stars and the event meets the minimum requirements for any age division, we will submit for consideration. The minimums are as follows: Boys 11-13 = 20 players, Girls 13U = 6 players
Junior Golf Scoreboard
- Ranking available for any division in which five or more competitors complete at least a 36-hole event.
Course Information
The Wildcat course is an Arthur Hills design that features bent grass from tee to green. The University Club of Kentucky also features a practice area that includes two practice greens, a driving range with target greens and a short game area. Yardages for this event are as follows: Girls 13U: 5,005; Boys 10U: 5,010; Boys 11-13/Girls 14-18: 5,636; Boys 14-15/16-18: 6,605.
