The college prep series plays a pivotal role in preparing junior golfers for success at the collegiate level. It provides junior golfers a glimpse into the reality of playing at the university level with top competition and the collegiate ambiance. The College Prep Series at Furman will be held at the Furman University Golf Course August 10-11 weekend. The tournament will be ranked by one of the nation’s premiere junior golf ranking systems in the National Junior Golf Scoreboard. The champion from both the boy’s and girl’s 15-18 division will earn 4 performance stars from the AJGA which is equivalent to one exemption into an AJGA event if field requirements are met. In addition, players who place highly will receive South Carolina Junior Golf Association Heritage Points (SCJGA) and Tarheel Youth Golf Association Points (TYGA). Lastly the top 15 finishers will receive points towards year end honors, state teams, all HJGT teams, and the inaugural hurricane cup. On the day before the first round of the tournament, participants will team up with a guest of their choice to go head to head with other HJGT member-guest teams. The cost for each event will be $145 per team and will include 18 holes, dinner, gift certificate payouts for the top 3 teams in each division, on course contests, and so much more. The format for this event is a 36 hole stroke play tournament held over two days, Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11. Registration for the event will commence at 6:30AM on August 3. Both the first and second rounds will feature a double tee start from 7:30AM–9:30AM. Registration for members is $179 and non-members can register for $199. The aesthetics of the course are also pleasing to the eye as the course offers hybrid bermuda called Champion which creates lightning fast greens.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 11-14 and Girls 15-18.
