The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Comes to Furman University
College Prep Series at Furman set for April 16-17
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) invites you to play in the College Prep Series at Furman! This event will be held at Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, S.C., on April 16-17. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to play where the Paladins play! This event is a two-day, 36-hole event. The first round will begin with a double tee start from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. and the second round will begin with a double tee start from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Registration for members is $195 and $245 for non-members. The College Prep Series at Furman is open to all golfers between the ages of 8-18. The event will have Junior Golf Scoreboard Ranking (JGS), South Carolina Junior Golf Association Heritage points (SCJGA), Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA), winners in each division will receive an invitation to the 2016 Tour Championship on Dec. 3-4, top three in each division will receive an invitation to the 2016 Druh Belts Mid Season Invitational at Chateau Elan on June 11-13, and top-10 finishers receive points towards year end honors which include state teams, all HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup.
American Junior Golf Association
- This event does not have guaranteed AJGA stars. If this event meets the minimum requirements for any age division we will submit it to the AJGA for consideration. The minimums are as follows: Boys 14-15/Boys 16-18 = 40 players, Boys 11-13 = 20 players, Girls 14-18 =12 players, and Girls under 13 = six players.
Junior Golf Scoreboard
- Ranking available for any division in which five or more competitors complete at least a 36-hole event.
Course Information
The Furman University Golf Club is a challenging par-72 layout that was renovated in 2008 to implement Champion UltraDwarf Bermudagrass on all 18 greens. This course owns an array of honors, including being rated the No. 1 Public Golf Course in the Upstate by the South Carolina Golf Ratings Panel, No. 16 in Golfweek’s “Best Campus Courses” in 2015 and a 3.5 star ranking from Golf Digest. Yardages for the College Prep Series at Furman are as follows: Boys 10U: 5,019; Girls 13U: 5,113; Boys 11-13/Girls 14-18: 5,818; Boys 15-16/Boys 16-18: 6,756.
