The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour made a stop at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, IN to host the College Prep Series at Ball State. The weather conditions were ideal for both days of the tournament this week. The tournament saw a lot of close competition in all divisions. All the winners of each division received an invite to the 2015 HJGT National Championship at Champions Gate.
The Boy’s 15-18 division saw some impressive golf played throughout the division. Keegan Bronnenberg of Muncie, IN was able to claim the victory by ten shots after posting scores of 67, -3 on day one and another solid round on day two with an even par 70 for a two day total of 137. Bronnenberg opened the tournament with three birdies on each side on day one and continued to play well on day two. Coming in second place this week was Brett Wheeler of Dublin, OH with a two day total of 147 after posting scores of 73, +3 and 74, +4. Wheeler recorded an impressive 1 under par 34 on the front nine on day two to help him hold off the competition for second place. Coming in third place this week was Josh Turich of Centerville, OH with a two day total of 150 after shooting scores of 73, +3, and 77, +7. Turich recorded an impressive 1 under par back nine on day 1 to help him on his way to third place this weekend. In the end Keegan Bronnenberg was able to hold off the competition and win the College Prep Series at Ball State at Delaware Country Club.
The Boy’s 13-14 division was won by Blake McIntire of Greenwood IN by one stroke after shooting a two day total of 171 with an 84, +14 on day one and an 87, +17 on day two. McIntire recorded four birdies during his tournament on his way to victory. Coming in second place this week was Andrew Fowler of Carmel, IN with a two day total of 172 after posting scores of 89, +19 on day one and an 83, +13 on day two. Fowler’s tournament was highlighted by a birdie on the difficult par four tenth hole on day two. In the end Blake McIntire was able to hold on and win the College Prep Series at Ball State at Delaware Country Club.
The Girl's 15-18 division was won by Claire Cameron of Martinsville, IN by an overwhelming 27 strokes after shooting 68, -2 on day one and a 69, -1 and day two for a two day total of 137. Cameron recorded an impressive six birdies during the tournament on her way to victory. Coming in second place this weekend was Nicole Gerome of North Ridgeville, OH with a two day total of 164 after shooting 84, +14 on day one and 80, +10 on day two. Gerome’s consistent play was able to carry her to second place this weekend. Third place this weekend went to Jacqueline Steier of Louisville, KY who shot a two day total of 189. Steier was able to shoot 11 strokes better on day two on her way to claim third place. Claire Cameron was able to walk away with the victory after the weekend. In the Boy's 11-12 division Sam Hord was able to pick up the victory after shooting a 74, +4 on day one and followed it up with an 84, +14 for a two day total of 158. Hord was able to record three birdies during the tournament on his way to victory.
