College Prep Series at Arizona State
(June 24th-25th 2017)
On June 24th 2017 the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Tempe, Arizona to host the College Prep Series at Arizona State at Karsten Golf Course. We would like to thank the Karsten Golf Course for allowing us to host this wonderful event at their facility. It was an extremely warm weekend in Tempe and the course was very fast and that led to some quality scoring conditions. This led to some low scores and some great competitions across all age groups.
Jackson Van Slyck of Scottsdale, AZ was the Boys 16-18 winner. Van Slyck’s even par round on day 2 cemented his victory with a total of 144 (74-70). Uday Bir Singh of Chandigarh, India came in second. Singh’s total of 146 (74-72) made for a competitive finish in the division. Dean Tsandes of Park City, Utah came in third. Tsandes total of 149 (72-77) helped him to an impressive total. The entire division played very competitively all weekend.
Pierce Braun of Phoenix, AZ was the Boys 14-15 winner, Braun’s total of 159 (77-82) gave him a comfortable win over the field. Jackson Huether of Tucson, AZ finished second. Huether’s total of 162 (82-80) demonstrated his consistency through both round to finish second. Andy Knoll of Scottsdale, AZ finished third. Knoll finished with a total of 163 (80-83) and was only one stroke away from finishing second. The Boys 14-15 finished with very good scores on a difficult course. Boys 11-13
Davis Perry of Basking Ridge, NJ was the Boys 11-13 winner. Perry finished with a total of 199 (107-92) to win the division. Perry looked like he was having a fun time on the course while battling the intense heat. Thanks for coming out and competing with us Davis.
Annabelle Huether of Tucson, AZ was the Girls 14-18 winner. Huether finished with a total of 158 (78-80) and ran away from the rest of the field. Emily Shimkus of Cave Creek, AZ finished second. Shimkus finished with a total of 166 (88-78). Shimkus had a solid performance on day 2 to claim second place. Emily Cons of Phoenix, AZ finished third. Cons total of 173 (88-85) propelled her to a third place finish. The entire Girls 14-18 field played very well with the intense heat and tough course. Boys 10U
Saketh Amble of Peoria, AZ was the Boys 10U winner, Amble finished with an impressive total of 184 (92-92). Amble played consistently all weekend and was very enjoyable to watch. Thanks for coming out and competing with us Saketh.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
