Deafening Uproars at Duke University
On Tuesday, August 1st, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Durham, NC to hold the College Prep Series at Duke University hosted by Duke Golf Club. Durham gave this field of competitors two gorgeous days to compete and our field took full advantage. Top finishers from each division received points towards year-end honors and an opportunity to make a splash in Florida at the end of the year for the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s National Championships. The HJGT would like to thank the wonderful staff members and administrators of Duke Golf Club for their hospitality and providing such wonderful playing conditions for our field. All in all, North Carolina provided a fantastic venue for our field of players composed from some of the nation’s best golfers. Boys 16-18

Kase Diehl is the Boys 16-18 champion. The Charlotte, NC native took home the division through solid concentration and a cool temperament. Our division champion posted a 69 on Wednesday and a 78 on Thursday for a two-day total of 143 in route to a victory. Connor Murphy of Land O Lakes, FL finished in second with a two-day total of 148 (72 – 76). Woodson Smith of Martinsville, VA took home third place honors with a two-day total of 149 (73 – 76). This division came down to the very last putt and every player was sure to bring their A-game and make this college prep series one to remember. Boys 14-15

George Duangmanee is the champion of the Boys 14-15 division. Duangmanee kept his cool through the heat to finish the tournament and take the division by a one-stroke margin. The victor, from Fairfax, VA, posted rounds of 76 and 70 for a two-day total of 146. Tianyu Wu of Howey-In-The-Hills, FL took home second place honors after finishing with a two-day total of 147 (73 – 74). Taking home third place was Case Hummer of Glen Mills, PA who posted a two-day score of 151 (78 – 73). The boys 14-15 division saw some fantastic competition that gave the entire field of spectators and HJGT staff a fantastic show over the week. Boys 11-13

Brantley Parramore is the Boys 11-13 champion. An 86 and 90 were enough to secure the victory for the Greenwood, SC native, finishing with a two-day total of 176. Second place honors were taken home by Landen Howard of Richmond, KY who posted a two-day total of 184 (96 – 88). Daniel Ailor of Montpelier, VA rounded out the division netting a third place trophy for the collection after turning in a two-day total of 198 (98 – 100). This division continuously showed class, sportsmanship, and encouragement to their fellow players as they fought through heat and humidity. Girls 14-18

Ranida Inpan is the Girls 14-18 champion. Inpan, of Thailand paired a 76 on Wednesday with a 71 on Thursday for a two-day total of 147 to edge out the competition and take the girls 14-18 division. Splitting second from Thailand was Rattika Sittigool who posted rounds of 75 and 73 for a two-day total of 148. Ahra Suk Ko of Matthews, NC took home third place with a two-day total of 149 (74 – 75). This division played fantastic golf keeping spectators and staff captivated throughout the week. Girls Under 13

Brooke Oberparleiter is the girls under 13 champion. Oberparleiter of Laurel Springs, NJ emerged victorious after shooting a score of 77 on Wednesday and a score of 79 on Thursday. This netted Oberparleiter a score of 156 and a champion trophy. Finishing second was Kathryn Schaefer of Kalamazoo, MI posting a two-day total of 161 (83 – 78). Third place was taken home by Adriana Isabel Balaguer of Dorado, PR who posted a two-day total of 181 (90 – 91).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
