The college prep series plays a pivotal role in preparing junior golfers for success at the collegiate level. It provides junior golfers a glimpse into the reality of playing at the university level with top competition and the collegiate ambiance. The College Prep Series at UF will be held at the University of Florida Golf Course May 11-12 weekend. The tournament will be ranked by one of the nation’s premiere junior golf ranking systems in the National Junior Golf Scoreboard. The champion from both the boy’s and girl’s 15-18 division will earn 4 performance stars from the AJGA which is equivalent to one exemption into an AJGA event. The boy’s 11-14 champion will also have the opportunity to earn 1 performance star if the field reaches 20 or more players. In addition the champions of the three aforementioned divisions will also be eligible to earn 1 exemption into a Florida Junior Tour event. Lastly the top 15 finishers will receive points towards year end honors, state teams, all HJGT teams, and the inaugural hurricane cup. The first round will take place on Saturday with registration running from 7:00AM-9:00AM and tee times beginning at 8:00AM and finishing at 10:00AM. The final round will take place on Sunday with tee times spanning from 8:00AM-12:00PM. The awards ceremony will follow the round at 5:00PM where players will earn trophies and a vast assortment of golf specific goods. The Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida will play host to the event. Located at the northwest corner of the UF Gainesville campus this course was originally designed by famous architect Donald Ross. This par-70 course is considered to be a relatively short golf course. This course has helped hone the skills of both the men’s and women’s Gator golf programs and played a significant role in their success to five NCAA championships.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 15-18 and Girls 11-14. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Ohio.
