The HJGT will be returning to Raleigh for the College Prep Series at NC State. Hosted at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course on centennial campus the event is set to take place April 27-28. As with all HJGT events this will be ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard, one of the top ranking systems for junior golfers in the nation. If the required minimum field sizes are met players at the event will be eligible to earn AJGA performance based entry stars (4 stars are equivalent to one exemption). Champions of the boy’s and girl’s 15-18 age division will earn 4 performance stars and the champion of the boy’s 11-14 division will earn 1. Top finishers can earn points from the South Carolina Junior Golf Association, Tarheel Youth Golf Association, and top 15 finishers will earn HJGT points. HJGT points will amass toward year end honors, all HJGT teams and the inaugural Hurricane Cup. Event format will consist of conventional 36-hole stroke play, with 18 holes played each tournament day. Each round will be a single tee start with tee times Saturday and Sunday running from 8:00AM-11:00AM. The awards ceremony will follow the event Sunday where top 3 finishers will be handed out trophies. The player in each division who accumulates the most birdies will be awarded an EFX bracelet and each division will have a comeback player, given to the individual who shaves the most strokes off of their score from Saturday to Sunday. Each Comeback player will earn an entire set of Golf Pride Grips. Located on the NC State Centennial Campus the course offers scenic views of the city on holes 2, 3, and 4. Voted the best public golf course in 2010, the Lonnie Poole course is home to both the men’s and women’s NC State golf teams. The course has a rating of 72.9 with a slope rating of 138 (from the tips).

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 15-18 and Girls 11-14.
